University of Birmingham's Big Band at last week's Rush Hour Blues. Had a very long day at uni with an exam and all. Went straight into town with my 70-200 and unwounded with a few beers and some jazz.

Well its been very quiet recently, but here's to the new year and a fresh go.

Vale Fireworks!

Every year my University organises a firework display as one of the thing it likes to do for the community. It is a great event for the area, with one of the biggest and best display's I've seen. I managed to find a spot and set up my tripod peering over the heads of the row of tall gents in front. I managed to get a few good snaps, nothing like one of my Flickr contacts photos here, but the best my amateur approach could manage. These are my favourites!

Week 6.

So I'm now 6 weeks down out of 52. Uni work is getting harder and the time and effort available to put into these photos is getting smaller. Still, I had a good week. Got lots of work done in the build up to my mid term exams this week. My favourite photo?

The clocks rolled back on Sunday and I managed to get this with my extra hour! It's quite noisy and the puddle was a little shallow, but it gives it character...

My Saturday...

I had intended to have a slow start to the day and go into the library to get a lot of work done. With my bag packed full of work, laptop and library snacks I headed onto campus. Only to arrive 10 minutes before half time at a local rugby match. Naturally I got my camera out for the 'Photo of the Day' and then hung around a little while. I saw two tries and decided it was time to do some work. Walked a long way round to the library just in time to see my friends leave. So, of course, I buckled. Walked straight back to the rugby which had just restarted, left my friends and sat eating my apple and biscuits. One hell of a Saturday afternoon! Bournville won 23-19.

Bournville's hooker had a great break, abruptly cut short.

So the beautiful weather and that Friday feeling forced my hand to get out after lectures and take some photos of my campus. I just caught the last of the sunlight and even managed to catch a slight sunset.
